Looking forward to playing Boggy.
A fair few ex-Rooks at the club including Dan Beck who has again resigned for them and played at left back at the weekend! I'm sure Fraser and Royce (if he plays) will also have a point to prove after being released by us at the end of last season...

and if we beat Bognor (not sure we are even favourites on present form) the winners are likely to play Brighton and Hove Albion Reserves....

Brighton usually switch their ties to opponents venue so this would be a great midweek game at the pan - but i am afraid to say Bognor have to be favourites.

Says on the Sussex FA site that the Sidley vs Brighton Res fixture is definitely on 23rd February 2011, and the Quarter Final date with Lewes (with Lewes away) is provisionally for 16th March.

Now the final is at the amex bha might put a stronger reserve side out against sidley and us if they get through. In the last round they fielded mainly youth players. Whoever they field i hope they switch our tie to the pan as i agree it would be great to have to look forward to!

Well we will know if it is Brighton next week (on 23rd). Let's hope we get the tie on as soon as possible as I believe we have no mid-week games from 23rd February until the 23rd March now i.e 3 free weeks. Also there was a big article on the back of the Non-League Paper this week with a picture of the Amex and a Rooks aiming high headline saying we were keen to reach the final as it was now at the Amex. I thought this a bit hopeful to say the least given we have to win 2 more games and we hadn't won a game since November but now we have won two in a row for the first time since early 2008....

haha spot on HoveRook,
Unless any games were played last night I think this is the current state of play in the SSC
Round 3 (remaining fixtures) Eastbourne Borough - Rustington Sidley United - Brighton & Hove Albion
Quarter Finals Crawley Down - East Grinstead Town Sidley United or Brighton & Hove Albion - Lewes Eastbourne Borough or Rustington - Rye United Burgess Hill Town - Horsham

fiddled? by drawing Albion to play Lewes?
you're effectively saying that Lewes are the weakest team left in. How supportive.
as always? there's only ever been one Eastbourne - Albion final I think.

the fiddle has been going on for years. it's only when exceptional teams, like we were when we beat boggy at the swamp, cause an upset that annoys the culver road freebies. the albion have treated this cup badly over many years. this year is different because of the circumstances at the amex. in this cup some time ago, the albion sent a team full of adult pros to the pan. sam francis and wasser ripped them apart. micky adams went bananas the next day. of course i'd like 3 or more thousnd following the albion to the pan. we need the money. not supportive. your missing something. has anyone worked out how the 10.000 tickets are allocated to the finalists....

haha i bet you loved the x-files.
how have Brighton treated it badly? They have always entered the reserve side plus occassional first teamers who need the games. They've been in the last 4 finals which shows a level of commitment I would say. As for this year...they haven't even played a game in the competetion since the Amex was first mooted as a venue for the final.

The SSC does have a history of interesting draws. Perhaps that's the way the balls run. I wonder how many clubs are ever represented at the draw??
Also interesting choice of venue over the last few years. Eastbourne come what may. So when EB reach the final they have a home game?? So much for neutral/convenient/local venues.
Still I suppose there are a lot of things to consider, that must be why a committee of nearly two dozen people is required to organise a county FA cup.
