Thats a shame. Good luck to them. Although "training with" doesn't necessarily equal "playing for".

Don't think he ever played a game for us but JJ Banasco Zaragoza is playing for Eastleigh tonight- interesting as they are going full time.

One player we never had - but who put who the wind up any opposition - was Rocky Baptiste, It's such a great name and, according to Wikipedia he is playing for Harrow Borough. I think he's a striker, so as we already have three or four...maybe we just want a couple of lightning fast wingers. Then again the squad looks so strong that we might only need them next year.

Yeah. Put that post in the junk/drunk box, together with the Creepy/Worthless/Eastwick and Sangria files.

is it true that large signing on fees and big wages packets are on offer at Lewes, thought we had less money this season and as David put it, A budget is a budget!!! what budget is that then, no wonder they are flooding back, bit like the good old days for these players

The squad is taking shape and things are looking set fair. It's time to trust the board and lets see some decent football. Nodded to you last week as you wandered round the town lonely as a cloud David. You seemed to be in a dream so it must have been a return from the betting shop with your winnings. If enough shares are sold and the gates are up, a cup run and some care will allow even better players. But, with care.

:DThat's fascinating (indeed very spooky) HowardC. I wandered lonely as a cloud through our lovely English town again today to Ladbrokes where I put a wager on a double: Lightning CLOUD in the 2.40 at Leicester and English TOWN in the 5.10 at Cartmel. Both favourites and Lightning Cloud has already obliged at 11/10 so now I wait on English Town. I'm also giving Collect Art another chance in the 7.25 at Bath.
PS. Steve behind the counter proudly showed me his Lewes Season Ticket which his wife had secretly applied for. If I'd known who the ticket was for I could have saved her the stamp! Last day for buying season tickets at the bargain £150 price (£75 concessions) is this Saturday. Email me on david@lewesfc.com or call 01273 478513 and I can put one aside at the bargain prices.

:DYippee! English Town (actually the horse's name is Englishtown as one word) duly obliged at 3-1! Please send more tips Howard. Preferably BEFORE I put the money on in future. Funnily enough, Courtland King also won today at Leicester but was well odds-on.

Anyone else see Fridays Argus?
Kingy confirms that he is struggling to get players for the money we are offering and that a fair few of the u18's will be involved. Jordan Lang, for one, was mentioned. He still needs 4 more players. Breachy and Barney still undecided as they have been offered less money than last season. Breachy is talking to Hastings and Bognor. No contact has been made with Barney, which I find rather odd and worrying.......

Barness offered less money but then you say no contact made?

Barness offered less money but then you say no contact made? It's what the Argus says. Unless I misread it?

I do wonder if there's any regret about making no approach to Jamie Crellin, George Jones amongst others. They would have cost the club little in wages and would have surely been able to do a squad job at Ryman League.
As surely would Tim Rivers, Scott Manning, Andy Pearson?
We seem to have an extremely good starting XI, I just worry about strength in depth and if it was me, then I would have snapped the above mentioned players up and it wouldn't have used up a whole load of the budget, but then again, I haven't won the Conf. South, Zamaretto, got into numerous play offs!
Looking forward to hearing about todays game. I do hope this lack of players means that u18s get a chance and not the odd trial player.

Disappointing if that is true about Barney and Breach. Are they in it for the money or job satisfaction?

So on Saturday some more players:
CM- Dwayne Striling - ? CM- Jed Wallace - Farnborough ST- Michael Malcolm - Farnborough GK- Mark Zawdaski - Horsham Dryer ? Mustafa? Mayeg? Merchant? Phillips?
I presume some of these are on trial? And some may be under 18's?
