nickyboi does tend to take things literally, but it's good that there is a positive feel about the club on this forum, for far too long it has been doom and gloom lets hope we have a good season and are in the mix for promotion. SK it's over to you !!

Some quotes from Boro fans on their forum
"King had a great rapport with Lewes fans and like him or loathe him, he has charisma and a passion for the job. I have a feeling he'll be a success at the Pan second time around, even on limited funds, and may also add quite a lot to the gate. "
"As much as I admit to hate it kingy at Boro would have been top draw and alot of people would have got behind it no matter what the diehards say! "
"I think he will do a good job once again at Lewes. I also feel that he will prove a lot of people wrong, (particularly on THIS forum), that he's a much better manager than alot of people give him credit for. Certainly no-one ought to throw the "chequebook" tag at him anymore after taking up this challenge once more. I think Lewes' gain could prove to be 'boro's loss. Good luck to him. "
"Will be interesting to see how his second stint there works out, I agree with lee - it's not all down to the money at his disposal as some people seem to believe, he is without doubt a good manager.. just how good though I suppose we'll find out! I think he's gone back to Lewes to prove he's not just a flash in the pan (no pun intended!) "

At least they are being nice, credit to them they could be saying what the ill informed people are on the BHA forum. Most of them seem intrigued like we are. Looking really forward to the incoming players and how next season materialises.

Is that right he applied for the job after the deadline date? How fair is that to the others who applied for the job, if it does go wrong will those people want to apply again after being treated that way?

No – the allegation is wrong, and is just another example of the drip, drip of bad feeling that some like to engender. (And I don't mean you for asking the question, having heard what someone else posted.) The board can't be expected to reply to every rumour, but it might – after a time – be useful for them to clear up any outstanding doubts about the process, although their statement on the main site is pretty clear.
What some have found hard to understand is SK's willingness to come down a division and take a salary cut. The answer is simply his love for the club, the fans and the town itself – as anyone who's had a word with him when he's visited the Pan will confirm. It won't be undiluted plain sailing, but let's enjoy the good times that are coming.

I'm afraid this is one downside of our new appointment. It will always attract rumour and innuendo from some quarters. It's just the way it is and we will have to put up with it. Crawleys manager is not exactly popular either and they aren't doing too bad. Some are already having a pop at Kingy, and us, on the BSS forum.

I hope we don't have to read anything more regarding the interviewing procedure. IT'S DONE, IN THE PAST, GONE!!! And my fav choice would've been Colbran but the BoD have made a choice and as I said it's about supporting the club and getting behind whoever is in charge and moving forward together.
One thing I don't want to hear is about Steve King taking a pay cut. There were known problems at Farnboro and it may be that that the Lewes post will provide him better security. Indeed, times are difficult for nearly everyone at the moment with pay cuts/freezes and increased living costs so anyone who is able to earn a living in football should count their blessings. Life in the real world could be a grim alternative.
It's time to start anew and put the past where it belongs. I'm more than happy to find myself eating large portions of humble pie if the success comes as expected.

I've followed the comments for and against SK with interest. I'm primarily a Brighton fan so didn't feel it appropriate to put in my two pennorth.
I've only really been following the Rooks for the past three years so cannot comment to much on SK's previous reign, however the bloke must have something about him to create so much discussion and media interest when he is basically a League 7 manager.
A lot of the games I have seen were under KK and TOSH so many were not great games, however I really enjoy the Dripping Pan experience and there have been a few highlights including the escape from relegation last season and 125th anniversary match earlier this season just gone.
I cannot wait for the season to start and I hope it's true that Lewes have requested not playing at home on the same day as Brighton as then I can get to see all the home games for both teams.
I hope SK's second coming is succesful and I'm right behind him. Even with a few doubters I'm sure he will get the crowd going. It will be good to have a manager that acknowledges the fans rather than skulking head down to the dug out. The football under Ibbo wasn't always great to watch but you always felt that you were in it together with him.
Come On You Rooks!!

Good post Piddinghoe, nice to see a fan who is impartial over SK and see that you are behind who ever is in charge.

It's a shame we don't have the archive any more for new and old fans to glance back through and see what the club has been through the last 10 years or so. When Liam Bambridge was running the old Lewesfc.com site there were match reports going right back to 1999/2000. I wonder if all that information has been lost? Liam. Where are you?

Steve King recognised the progress made by the Lewes Board in an interview with the BBC earlier this year. In particular he said "The people in charge of the club now have the club at heart." Undoubtedly, the same applies to him.
I would like too see one of Patrick Marber's excellent interviews as a way of introducing Steve King to the many new fans at the club and get an insight into what challenges he sees ahead. (Giving away no secrets of course!)

With Mr. Marber doing many interviews over the last season I would have though there would have been an interview on the site. Not too bothered but would just be nice to see how the interview would go.

Would be great to see them back at the club, maybe we will see some new faces that King had at Farnborough as well? Jay Conroy has signed for Sutton though so we won't see him back.
