Must admit since he left after we won the title, I never expected he would return. But now he has, I couldn't be happier! Up the rooks!

Looking forward to finding out about pre-season games when we can welcome back SK and have a look at his team.

After 3 years of relegation battles and turmoils, a ray of light on the footballing side. Good statement by the Board, and very brave decision indeed. Roll on next season.

To those whos dream this was - celebrate.
To the doubters I hope we can unite behind him, start with a clean sheet and move onwards and upwards together.

He's four foot two........ That is not true. I think he is slightly taller than the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince. I hope the past stays in the past. Ok, I did not agree with some comments said after he left, but the slate has been wiped clean. I would like to see the likes of Booth and Holloway back again if that is possible. On the downside I think my Steve King signed Lewes scarf has dropped in value, as people can get them next season. ;D I was going to sell it on ebay. All I want now is Li Na To win the French Open today and Bethany Rose to get to the final of "So You Think You Can Dance" and that would make my day. PLease vote for Bethany calls cost 15p from BT Landline

Congratulations to Steve on securing the job. I never thought he would come back here after we fell into the Ryman.
A big well done to the board and Ibbo for the way they have gone about it and the way they have explained their method of choice. First class.
I hope we can now look forward to some exciting times again but this time armed with the knowledge that Chairman Ibbo and the board will have the finances well in hand.

I wonder if he can talk Dave Wheeler into staying? He wanted him at Farnborough so obviously rates him.

Notice the bit about developing a "viable base of Sussex players".
This is definitely the right way forward, as opposed to an O'Shea rag bag of signings.
I must say I never thought this would happen, however if the board think he was the best candidate then that's fine by me and good luck to him.

I suppose it will please half of the supporters, the ones with short memories ...like the ones who remember a successful team on the pitch, the possibility of working towards promotions, being the best non-league team in Sussex? As long as the fans are confident that there is realism about the way the team/club is funded, most will be very happy with SK's appointment. We now have a fantastic Board and I am sure most of us will feel that we are looking for manageable and sustained improvement, not a quick fix.

No real surprise in this news release as it appears a couple of days late in coming.
I have no doubt that Steve King and Justin Skinner will produce an entertaining side and that the relegations of previous seasons will soon be forgotten. While I fully expect the club to regain the winning ways previously enjoyed when SK was at the helm I do hope that the team do not become arrogant or ill disciplined as they often showed in the past, this includes some fans also. I do hope the Board will disclose the playing budget for this season as some other clubs do, as it will provide an indication of what ambition can realistically be achieved. Failing that I suppose I can buy a share and see the yearly accounts. It was also interesting that the BoD spoke about youth development and it will be interesting to see what programmes unfold to achieve this. It is such a shame that the youth/reserve set up which was remodelled in 2000 and reached such high standards has suffered in recent years.
I imagine that there will be some old faces seen again gracing the Pan and I look forward to a visit in September especially if SK can get Darryl McMahon along though this lad should probably be playing at a level higher than he did last year.
The club has suffered some disappointing years after almost a decade of non stop success. Perhaps it was needed to knock the arrogance out of some and bring a few down to earth and back to reality. The important thing now is that all pull together for the good of Lewes FC.

I agree with you Willo about the fans coming back, which is good for revenue but these 'fans' will mostly be the ones who left when SK did the last time and will therefore still be arrogant. Unlike the ones of us who stuck it out who know the true meaning of winning and definitely loosing.

Will we see Gary Holloway, Paul Booth, Dale Binns ?
I think King should get rid of most of our current squad expect from a few i.e Dave Wheeler, Chris Winterton, Lewis Hamilton.
We all know he has a big contact book so lets hope he uses it over the summer and gets a squad in that will be the same squad come May next year. I do hope he uses some local lads if they are good enough.

Just keep the WD40 handy. Tosh maintained the revolving door last season, but it might need a splash of lube come August!
Has Jack Walder really left for Hastings already?
