Now we are back in the Ryman (albeit we have never been in the Premier version) can we not take the netting off and let kids and others sit on (and roll down) the grassy bank. My kids came for years because they were allowed to do this! (i.e. didn't have to sit or stand still and watch the football!). I remember that glamorous pop star lady sitting there as well before MC Harvey dumped her! Surely another benefit of being in a lower division or will the steward jobsworths say that is a health and safety risk (you know the ones who do the disappearing act when there is real trouble such as when Salisbury came).

I thought she dumped him, because he was playing away too often.

Lets face it. The pan has improved over the years but the grass banks are dangerous. No matter how successful your team is, the ground grading costs big money to improve. Your now up against the seconed best Sussex team at the Amex just down the road. I think the wandering fans will wander in that direction, or better still, come and see real league football with a team on the up. And a team with a manager with no history of controversy.

Must be a glory hunting creepy fan, only been to the games since they spent more money then the whole of L2 put together and only been to the games since the Man Utd game. Probably only just found out Evans' name. Bloody Crook he is.

I'm surprised. Some of you think our totally commited manager can be slaughtered and ignore the past of agent orange. Ignore the past at your peril.

have you seen Evans and Crawleys past mate? All good you coming on here now you have the money and are going up. All you appear to be proving is how obnoxious you Crawley fans are...

Crawleyboy you've just been promoted to the league, you're making new signings, do you really have nothing better to worry about than a non league club three leagues below you?

Point taken. But i go through the Sussex clubs sites and I see some unusual things. I work in a shop in Crawley and so i see a number of non league fans on a dailly basis. Lets be honest. I sell more Chelsea shirts than I do for Crawley, but thats for now. If we keep going, up and up, who knows. I dont think theres been a request for a Lewes shirt.

You will keep going up and up until the money men close their chequebook. It will happen at some point. It always does. Then there is only one way to go. So don't take the p*** out of the lower league clubs as you might be playing them again one day sooner than you think. And they will remember the p*** taking..........

If we could return to the point, the grass banks are not dangerous. They attract a lot of people and are a great place to watch football from. If there is no league restriction, I see no reason to keep them closed

Maybe because you are in crawley, bet you dont get many requests for a EB shirt either. Bet you do support the red devils but not the southern ones

'I dont think theres been a request for a Lewes shirt.'
What's your point? When was a Crawley shirt last sold in Lewes? There are plenty of Lewes shirts sold in our town! Lewes FC is a very well supported little club - in a town of 16,000, crowds often of 600 or more are remarkable especially for a relegation team. You don't need to worry about us.
I have no problem with Crawley fans coming on our forum though and feel this reflects the fact that interesting things are happening at Lewes. Obviously it is interesting for Crawley too but in a totally different way. Whatever we think of him, Steve Evans is a committed manager and I remember when he came to the Pan with Crawley in the BSP and bellowed his way through the game from the stand (as he was banned from the touchline) while dear old KK stood passively by the dugout. We lost the game (badly) and had to get our enjoyment from goading SE and trying to drown out his commands to the coach (Fletch?).
Good luck to Crawley - I hope their success is sustainable but I have my doubts.

I always thought the Mountfield road side was a bit steep for that though. The other banks were ideal.

I cannot believe there is a section on grass banks in these regulations - grassy knolls fair enough - but grass banks... I am not sure of any problems involving grass banks - walls, old wooden stands, fences etc but grass banks!! Yes MC was dumped after he played away with Javine - the beautiful Alesha Dixon who was very patient with all the young fans that day on the bank not enough for him! He then got dumped by Javine for you guessed it playing away. Despite all that I thought he was a good player - home and away!
