Yes but Guiam spoke very highly of both Keehan and O'Shea. There was always the promise of something good around the corner.

It's called a rallying call, trying to get all pulling in the same direction. Keehan didn't stand a chance and bit off far more than he could chew. O'Shea was lauded by Ibbo and the present Board as well.
Some people are stuck in the past which brings me onto a rumour I've heard that a firm favourite with a few on here has applied for the vacant Braintree job. He always had a nice motor so that would save the club supplying one!
I'm sure there is something good around the corner but best we get off this roundabout first!!

firstly spur....i have no insider knowledge from the club. i can confirm that the content of that conversation was me offering my support to the club and little else. i did not get any information regarding the present situation at the club and can prove this if you persist by introducing you. as you know...early this morning i pm'd you to inform you that your messiah, sk, had applied for the braintree job. i learned this from a friend. i did not post this fact as i thought it may cause grief but your constant doubt of my posts are now getting annoying. some of you guy's live in a bubble. you are probably the worst spur. i speak to many people in sussex at different clubs so when i post, i think it's right. i will support any manager that the board choose...i have stated my preference, sin my opinionn colbran, but he goes through the process like the others. even if i put the club first, some sk lover will still change facts and history and knock....so...do we unite behind the new man or is it back to the old ways.

Guiam no one on here has said they wont get be hind the new manager, they have merely stated their preference, just like you have with Colbran, this doesn't mean that because your information may be 'right' that you should say some SK lover as they could just say you are a Colbran lover. I don't care who gets the job I just hope it is the right person. Initially I had a favourite of SK but that was just a dream, I have no preference now as I support Lewes not the manager.I will support the manager, however, when they are in charge.

There are clearly some very indiscreet people out there. I hope our new Manager isn't one of them. What is wrong with confidentiality and respect?

i am supporting an applicant. i wear my heart on my sleeve. if someone is anti that applicant because of me...then it is they who are at fault. judge the person on merit. as for discretion and honour....dont start me.

I am getting confused here.
I thought the story was that SK was staying with Farnborough, because money was going in to the club. Now it seems he is after the Braintree job, which in the Conference will be a very short straw to draw.
Why don't we all just wait until a decision is made, instead of pointless speculation. As no-one knows who the full range of candidates is, it seems pretty silly to favour one without knowing what skills others may bring to the party!

The first rule of Non League is to never believe anything until it happens.
Let's wait and see.

Let's not get into an argument, Guiam. I don't think I'm constantly attacking your posts, only asking the odd pertinent question. And, as you know, I'm perfectly aware of your track record in the game, and the part you played with Jimmy in taking the Rooks forward.
I don't pretend to any expertise myself. Like all fans on here I want what's best for the Rooks. Let's all get behind the next manager, whoever he may be . . .

pj... you're quite right however some people disseminate information knowing it will find it's way to the intended source in order to manipulate a situation. It's all very interesting though... Apparently Braintree were approached prior to last weeks BSP playoff final!!! An attractive escape route or trying to strengthen ones arm for next seasons negotiations? I remember a similar thing happened before at Lewes with a previous manager approaching 'Boro. Certainly the Braintree job is very attractive as it is a no lose situation. They do not have huge amounts to spend hence must be operated on a tight budget, therefore if successful the manager has worked miracles and the CV is enhanced, if unsuccessful excuse is constrained by too small a budget to compete and CV still doesn't look bad. I think the next few weeks will be interesting at Lewes, Farnborough, Eastbourne, Braintree, and any other club where a change of management is on the cards.
Spur... agreed. One thing for sure is that it is important that all get behind the new manager whoever he may be...

Now that's a curious post, Willo! People, you say, use the forum to disseminate information etc . . . and then you and Guiam disseminate 'information' about SK applying for the Braintree job! I'm sure SK himself isn't putting this kind of story about, whether it's true or not (I haven't a clue), so either it's wild rumour intended to advance/harm someone's prospects or somebody's leaking – for the same reason.
As Grassbanker says, we shall discover the indentity of our new manager soon enough . . .

aha spur! put that conspiracy theory whirling round in your head to bed. Guiam and I haven't spoken for months. And I wasn't referring to this forum when I mentioned about disseminating information. Like an agent putting out a story about a player in order to re-negotiate a contract for improved terms, if you think some people wouldn't use this tactic at this level then you are perhaps naive. Certainly as I said before it was used playing off Lewes and E'boro. It maybe that we share a similar source for our information however having heard this Braintree rumour from two separate sources from different regions, I waited until after BSP playoff final to post it as I thought it would be in bad taste to do otherwise. As I've previously stated I wouldn't be disappointed if SK returned however I don't think that will happen for a number of reasons, the main one being the fact he is very ambitious, good at what he does and I believe he wants to prove himself in BSP. Neither is it unusual for someone to apply for a job elsewhere that is better placed, nor to apply for several vacant positions at the same time. I like the sound of Wormull returning however I have heard nothing but good about Colbran from various people in Sussex football. I don't know him myself but I feel he is well placed in local football at Ryman level who believes in bringing through youngsters and this would help take Lewes back to the set up created in bygone days.
For sure, it's gonna be interesting...

I hear quite a lot of the Farnborough squad may be available - don't know why don't know when but I am sure we will meet again some sunny day.
