What is the situation with the squad for next season - do we basically just start from scratch i.e. no-one has a contract so in effect until we have a new manager and he signs people up (including any of the old squad) we have no-one?
What is the normal time for signing players for the Rymans - now or later in June ready for friendlies in late July/early August?
i see other clubs are "releasing players" or giving new deals alreadye.g. "Blue Square Bet South club Dover Athletic today have released four players - Sam Long, Joe Tabiri Elliott Charles and Lewis Spence have all been told they are free to find other clubs. Meanwhile, Ross Flitney, Matt Fish, Rob Gillman, Olly Schulz, Harry Baker, Barry Cogan, Jon Wallis and Sam Cutler have all been offered new deals."
What do people think - start afresh or try to sign the core of the players we had?

Tabiri was great for us this season, surprised he was unable to convince Dover to keep him.

Personally, I would keep a core of players from last season as they have played together for a season or two. The ones I keep are:
Winteron
Barness Breach Pearson Hamilton
Wheeler
I am not sure if Doolan, Buckle and Hill were on Loa or not.

Would be fantastic if we could get Tabiri back, but he is 100 % good enough for BSS and should look to remain there
For next season i would keep
Chris Winterton Anthony Barness Lewis Hamilton Chris Breach Joe Dolan Andy Pearson David Wheeler (if we can !) Rory Hill Jermane Wright (if he doesnt retire) Gary Noel (could score more in Ryman Premier) Ben Hunt Danny Buckle

Don't like letting go then nicky boi?!
Apparantly there is a dispute over who goes in Zamaretto and who goes in Ryman - a final decision is expected on the make-up of the leagues by the fa on 20 May. According to all the forums St Albans are likely to be made to join. The decision will include all the issues around promotion into ones like Ryman South which could have knock-on effects etc e.g. Crawley Down have applied for Ryman South - talk, again only on forums, of Thurrock being saved...

I would take the opportunity to rebuild the squad and get a younger group of players together.
No disrespect to Barney, Dolan and Wright but they are not the future of Lewes FC. However I'd like to think we could keep Barney at the club in some capacity as he has been loyal to us and has bags of experience which could be invaluable to young players.
We also need a nucleus of players who have a record of performing in the Rymans Premier. Packing the team with Rymans South types is not the answer as we will end up nearer the bottom than top.
If I was really honest I would only keep Winterton, Breach, Pearson, Wheeler, Hill and Hunt and that's about it. Although I did see enough of Danny Buckle to think he could do a job as a target man if he really got fit and I think I would take the gamble on him.
Everyone else it's thanks and goodbye.

Have you actually ever seen Buckle play? Yes for longer than I saw Beckham at the Goldstone to know he would be World Class. That is Beckham not Buckle. Buckle was clearly un-fit. He was unlcuky his goal was disallowed. In the last home game he managed more shots on target than the rest of the team managed in that match. Fully fit and in the Ryman Premier I am sure he would do well with the right players.

Wheeler is likely to leave for personal reasons so I've heard.
I'm suprised no one has mentioned Ide, Walder and Crellin. Am I missing something?
my two pence for what it's worth:
Winterton Hamilton Breach Nelson Hill Noel Hunt Buckle

Mitchell Nelson was only on loan, he is a Bournemouth player.

The situation on Walder is someone said on here he is going to be playing for Hastings with Jason.
Walder is a cracking player and from what i saw of him he could do a job in BSS and maybe even BSP once he is fully fit again

I'm aware Nelson was on loan but thought he was better than the majority of loanees in his brief time here. Although the Bournemouth site says he's on a three-year deal so I doubt he will be released.

Dont think he would get into the Bournmouth team. Was found out a few times whilst playing for Boro but could do a job at BSS level

Sami El Abd has been released by Chelmsford I thought he would have been easily good enough for their level, love to see him back at the pan but I'm sure he will have no problem joining another Blue Square south club

Chelmsford obviously have big plans for next season, i think its clear they really want to get out of this league and want to get a squad that really cant fail in doing that.
From what i saw of Sami in his stint at the club, he is a fantastic centre half and as said above could without no doubt get into any BSS club. Hence when we offerd him a new deal he said no because he was looking for BSP football but found the next best thing a side hoping to get there. I think he will find a new team soon, but if on the off chance he is still avalable come Augest then whoever we get in sign him up !

Am I alone in thinking that the likes of Farrell, Whiteman, Lovett and Cade cannot be tempted back?

I think that makes more sense.
