7.30am. 2 Portakabin vans, a low loader and a crane in the car park in Mountfield Road. I dont think they are delivering.

The most exciting bit of the story comes in the last paragraph: 'Elliott has ongoing talks with potential investors and hopes to be able to announce more news soon.'

More new investors oh yes very good news (not). He always says that I think it's his own way of trying to make people more happy about what happening, which is nothing.

From the official Lewes FC site:
STEVE IBBITSON and Jason Hopkinson are staying on as Lewes manager and coach as the club continues preparations for the new season. Ibbitson was placed in caretaker charge in March for the Rooks last ten games in the Blue Square Premier, but both men have continued to work hard since the end of the season to help the club make preparations for August. The temporary appointments of both Ibbitson and Hopkinson was a popular one with supporters last season, and they hope that their decision to continue at the helm will help to create a more positive attitude to the club over the summer. Despite the financial problems the club continues to face, the pair have already been talking to players for next season, including members of the existing first team and Under 18 squads, as well as a number of potential new signings. First team friendlies have been arranged against Eastbourne Borough at the Dripping Pan (July 21st) with away games at Eastbourne Town and Carshalton, and the new management team are hopeful of arranging at least one more home friendly before the start of the season. Ibbitson is well aware of the club’s finances, but he has called on Lewes supporters to play an important role as the new season approaches. “We have debts that we need to deal with and that is obviously going to affect the budget,” he said. “People need to know that but it also means that we and the squad we gather will have to be prepared to work that bit harder, be that bit more organised, and be as innovative as we can for the Club and for the supporters.” “We need the supporters to get behind us but we in turn need to give them reasons to keep coming to watch.” One member of the management team who won’t be part of next season’s set up though is Steve Eke, who has taken on the role of Assistant Coach at Eastbourne Borough in place of Sin my opinionn Colborn who has become manager of Worthing. Hopkinson said, “We’re obviously disappointed he’s gone but he enjoyed the involvement with us in the BS Premier level last season and he’s been given the opportunity to continue at that level.” “He did deliberate the offer from Boro for some time but he made his decision to move to Priory Lane this week and both me and Steve wish him all the very best. He’s a great guy and he deserves it.” Behind the scenes at the Dripping Pan, Lewes owner Martin Elliott continues to work hard in an attempt to secure new financial investment into the club, and more news on the club’s future is expected over the next few days.

Trust is trying to get external funding to improve loo facilities. Space where the portakabins were is ideal for a new money spinning catering facility now?
Time for us all to repay Ibbo's loyalty I reckon...now when are season tickets available?

good news definetly...however before spur states the obvious we are not out the brown stuff yet......follow this up by supporting any ideas like foulkesys that get going...season tickets ...working parties and of course digging deep if shares or financial schemes happen. whatever its our club...... not martins or anyone elses..... we have had the squabbles now we can all help in getting the club back to normality who knows if the trust show they are wanting to work with the club and not against we may all be members one day....... as spur buys me a pint (alright Mr tight probably would never go that far but you never know)

Working parties with brush & paint would be a start. lets all pull together and stop making snide remarks all the time. We all ( I assume ) have the same aim !!!!

As I said earlier in the day, It's great about Ibbo's loyalty. There is, however, a problem about the club staying afloat. It's marvellous hearing these statements from ME once again saying everything is all right, but where is the money coming from? I look forward with great interest hearing about the Conference AGM on Saturday.
On another front, I praise the team for their great efforts at the end of last season, but if we haven't got much money, what has the season in store for us? There are some very hardened professionals in BCS; are our young lads going to survive an injury free season? Have we the money to strengthen the squad - that is, if we have one at present?
Very sorry if I sound negative, but there are so many questions unanswered at present.

Of course I'd buy you a pint – although I wouldn't promise not to drop anything into it . . . Mind you, you'd have to reveal your identity first, wouldn't you?

Working parties with brush & paint would be a start. lets all pull together and stop making snide remarks all the time. We all ( I assume ) have the same aim !!!! We used to have organised volunteer evenings at the Pan up to about 3 seasons ago but they seem to have lapsed. A few of us used to turn up and paint just about everything, repair fencing, weeding........anything really. It was all quite a laugh especially with a crate of beer on hand. I'm sure quite a few of us would still do it if it was organised again. We might not be able to help out much financially but there's a lot we could do to help in other areas.
