Bonfire Night Saturday 5 November - away to Carshalton. Better make that a noon kick-off (or Friday night) or there will be few fans who live in Lewes making that trip.
Very poor Xmas fixtures for the Dripping Pan. We are at home on 17 December and not at home again until Monday 2 January against Horsham. Boxing Day away to Hastings and New Year's Eve away to Met Police. By the way, did you know that the Met Police FC once 'tapped up' the News of the World for sponsorship?

There are 7 fixtures that clash with Brighton.

I suppose there could be more depending on our progress in the various cup competitions, some of which are played on Tuesday nights which is when Albion play midweek home games. At least we do not clash at Easter when we play at home on Monday 9 April and Albion play on the next evening 10 April. If Brighton kick-off at 3pm on 2 January maybe we should look at a noon kick-off or vice versa.

The Christmas fixtures are disappointing - even the 31 December one would be better than the fag end 2 January but there you go. Don't get this obsession with Brighton - I've got no interest going to the Amex but if people really think it is a problem then we could try to agree 12 noon kick offs those days and people can go to both - can't believe there are many who would want to or afford to. Again we could try one on a Friday night and see if it works but I guess we need the other team to agree. Gutted I miss the first game against the Police (although they may have been shut down a la NOTW by then - wishful thinking on my part), but will be there for Billericay Dickie www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-JIzWFfsPk and TOWIE crowd - Kingy's tan should fit in with his spiritual home team !

A means of downloading the fixtures straight into my Outlook calender would be very useful

My worry about clashing with Brighton fixtures is simply that with maybe 20,000 people expected to attend games (over 16,000 season tickets sold) how many will go to the Amex via Lewes Station? Presumably in the main they will be from Mid and East Sussex. And if they drive in to then catch the train with just one stop to Falmer where will they park in our town? You could have a situation where every space in the centre of Lewes is occupied by cars driven in by home or away fans making for the Amex and looking for spaces at about 1pm on a Saturday. Apart from the fact that our own fans with cars arrive much later than 1pm and might not find spaces what about the potential impact on shoppers coming to Lewes and finding it even harder to park than usual? If they can't park then the town's trade will suffer. I'm not being alarmist but there is a potential problem ahead that needs anticipating - though I'm not sure what's to be done about it as the Amex is where it is and not where I think it should have been - at the Waterhall beside the by-pass. Does anyone know if Sussex Uni will allow Albion fans to park? How many spaces are there at the Amex? It will take a few home games at the Amex before a pattern emerges and by voicing my reservations here maybe they will not come to pass.

Hopefully, by the time we play Met Police, most of their squad will have been banged up for taking brown envelopes off News International.

David
It had occurred to me at some point that if I was a shrewd Championship away fan I'd be going for pre-match beers and meet-ups in Lewes rather than Brighton as it is only one stop away, with less crowded trains in that direction.
So be prepared for the possibility that Saturday lunchtimes in Lewes in future will feature a thousand-odd Millwall, Cardiff, Birmingham or Leeds fans supping in the Lansdown etc. Could be entertaining.

Get them in the Pan? fiver entry with a valid albion match ticket? Thats assuming we have lunchtime kick offs when our home games clash with Brighton and that the revenue cancels out the damage to the ground ;D

I'm sure Boovidge's suggestion is one the Board and our bar partners, Southover Bonfire Society, will consider once we get into the season and can assess how the Brighton situation 'pans' out. I think it could prove popular as the Rook Inn is football-themed and just six or seven minutes by very frequent trains to Falmer. But maybe restricted to a pre-registering procedure for Brighton fans only so we can contrl the numbers. It's a pity we do not own our own car park - we could make a shedload for the Rooks fighting funds.

The simple solution to the fixture clash is to move the 7 home games to Sunday.
Sunday is the best option because there a fewer competing claims for the casual fan. Playing on Sat when there is a game at Falmer is just nuts in my opinion. Early kick-offs are a hassle for visitors, and 2 games in the same day is too much for many.
Lewes will be an unofficial "Park and Ride" access point. I would be surprised if Sussex Downs College were not aware of the income they could make from charging for spaces on match days.
As anyone held up for half the day trying to get into Brighton yesterday will testify, Falmer is not a good location, with any incident on the A27 causing a major problem. Waterhall would have been even worse, with no rail station.
We just have to make the best of it, and hope to attract a different audience as core support, but with as many add-ons from BHA as possible by not competing directly if there is an alternative.

how much freedom does the club have in setting when the games are played? Are there regulations from the league?

Academic now but Waterhall completely given over to football could have had a huge car park plus Mill Hill (already used for parking on Albion match days) is within walking distance. Combined with a railway halt (or even shuttle buses from Preston Park Station) the location would have been ideal. The Brighton Corporation stance of 'no building beyond the bypass' was silly; Waterhall was already a sports ground with buildings on it plus was blighted by the sound of traffic from the bypass so was not an area of outstanding natural beauty. The building of the stadium became a political football and it was disgraceful that the Brighton faithful were made to wait so long for a proper home when one was staring everyone right in the face at Waterhall.
Anyway we are we are and the test for Lewes FC comes on the 27th August when there will be police observers and hopefully observers from the Ryman League seeing how things work - or don't work. If it is a nightmare then Grassbanker's suggestion of playing on Sundays when there's a Saturday clash sounds sensible - better than Friday night when the away team and their supporters face rush hour traffic on the M25 and M23 etc.

Albion fan here. Agree with the problems you will face on Saturdays and hope your league will let you play on a Sunday or even better, Friday night. I hope that few problems arise but you are right to bring this up now before it goes wrong.
