I have already posted the following under the Season Ticket thread but then realised fans not buying Season Tickets might not necessarily read it. Anyway, very encouraging to see that over a third of Season Ticket applications received so far are from folk living outside of Lewes, mostly Brighton but others from Seaford, Uckfield and even London. I personally haven't spoken to anyone who says they will be giving up supporting the Rooks next season because they will be following Brighton in their new Amex Stadium. Lots have said they will go to Brighton games as and when they can but non-league Lewes remains the priority. That attitude for non-league fans makes big sense to me. Both clubs can live alongside each other and hopefully both will thrive. So long as the Seagulls do not change their name to Brighton & Lewes Albion as Lewes is now closer to their ground than Hove is, actually.
Anyway, get your Season Ticket applications in pronto if you haven't already done so. At £150 for adults and £75 for concessions they are fantastic value for a season that promises so much.

David
Having been a BHA season ticket holder for BHA six or seven years ago I will not desert my local team now because they have a new stadium. I have alot of friends that I occasional see now from the time I supported them (and miss seeing them) but really enjoy the experience of non league football. Roll on the first friendly in Cambridshire.

I dont think I will be visiting the pan this season, I'm going to try and go to more West Ham away games..Brighton,Portsmouth, Southampton and Palace are all within easy reach. If I go local I will more than likely go with the relatives to Boro

:DEr, Eddy, I'm not quite sure why you bothered to post the above on this website. Wouldn't it have been more sensible to post on the West Ham, Brighton, Portsmouth, Soton, Palace and Boro websites that you might be visiting them home or away? Or even more logical to post on every other UK club's website that you are staying away from them along with staying away from Lewes?
PS. So I take it that's a 'no' about a Season Ticket for the Rooks?

David....isnt this thread about Lewes fanbase? I gave one of the reasons I wont be at the Pan. As West Ham were relegated ( and as stated numerous times, being a West Han fan ) its easier for me to get tickets for away games, several of them being fairly local. Why would I post on other teams web sites? Having never followed them?

Eddy. I presume you have a West Ham Season Ticket. Some away games will be relatively local. So if Lewes can ensure that Lewes home games don't clash with West Ham away games, there may be a chance that you will come to the Pan when the West Ham away game is too far for you to travel. That means the gate at the Pan will be up by one several occasions next season. I am sure you will receive a warm welcome at the Pan on those days.

If you can afford a West Ham season ticket, you could probably afford a Lewes season ticket as well - just to show your latent support for your local team. Or you could move to Newham and then your local team would be West Ham.

Jonathan.....After supporting West Ham for 38 years and all the family from East Ham/Upton Park they are my "local" team. Newham is a bit of a made up place a bit like Seahaven! You are also right, I could probably afford several Lewes season tickets, but affording and buying are two different things. If we are talking local teams then surely you would want me to buy a Seaford season ticket,as I live there?

as eddyp has been a supporter of Lewes and contributor to this forum for a few years surely he is entitled to submit a post regarding his non-attendance... he has given a reason and that may have been compounded by the reappointment of SK (my supposition), which is not necessarily popular with everyone. There are some others who I know will not be returning to the Pan for that reason. He's entitled to post and not expect the s**t that jonathon spouts.

I think there's been some confusion here.
I believe eddyp's point was a response to "I personally haven't spoken to anyone who says they will be giving up supporting the Rooks next season because they will be following Brighton in their new Amex Stadium". Unfortunately, he interpreted that as "I haven't spoken to anyone who says they won't be coming to Pan this season" and hence explained his position as he thought this was a comment (and thread) designed for reply. As I said, unfortuante.
I don't understand why there is bickering and many a snide remark as things generally seem on the up (according to some, I acknowledge), with a solid board in place and a decent standard of players coming in.
Let's leave the arguing until (if) things start going wrong eh?

AND, I draw your attention to the thread at the top of this Forum from Kieran:
"Just a quick reminder in the middle of this period of time that you are responsible for any posts in which you write. IP addresses are logged and therefore responsibility of each post lies at its author and not of the moderators and/or admin of this board.
Emotions are running quite high and I'm trying not to delete anything from here as I don't like the idea of muting opinions but please just keep it football based and not personal based.
I'd rather not get any more letters through my door complaining about users of this forum!"

boovidge... two sides to a coin but some don't forget and on principles decide to stay away, their choice! Certainly when visiting the UK next I will endeavour to plan my dates to include a trip to the Pan.

Agree 100% follow the team not people who may not be here in years to come I was one of 22 supporters who went to York in the conference days and I was on KK back all the time. Depressed yes I was but still followed the team. People like Eddy P either support the club or don't. I don't give a dam if he does or does not but knowing his track record of following EB I doubt he does. So what sure the club can live without him.

Exactly, surely it doesnt matter who is the manager, the club is still our mighty lewes f.c and will always be! Long after were all gone hopefully! But to say you wont be attending because you dont agree with whose manager now, just doesn't make sense but hay ho

Seagulls-just to clarify things I support West Ham always have and always will. Has said numerous times in the past I follow local football - mainly going to Lewes games, I expect around the 150ish mark ( as I like the view ) but I also go to Boro ( with relatives ), Seaford ( live there )etc. I have in the past missed the odd game when I don't like certain players, as I refuse to pay the wages of people I don't like ( my principles ). Its easy for people to say that Lewes can live without people like me but remember how much money transient fans can bring in. In my case over £200 per season. I wonder if the board of directors have the same view?
breetlee666 - Has anyone actually said the are not going because of the manager?

Let's leave the arguing until (if) things start going wrong eh? This is one of the downsides of the re-appointment that I, and one or two others, predicted would happen weeks ago when Steve Kings name was in the frame for the job. It happened last time. It will happen again. Unfortunately there is a group of individuals who simply don't like the bloke and like to post negativity at every opportunity. (The season hasn't even started yet. Wait until we lose a game!). It's their choice not to like him, and as this is an open forum for debate, anything goes as long as it's not abusive. Then you add into the mix possibly one or two supporters (trolls?) of other clubs who like to have a bit of a wind-up with the real supporters....... I just wish some of these people would post about the positive things that are happening but I suppose there's no fun in that. From where I'm standing the positives far outweigh the negatives. Roll on the new season. Come on you Rooks!
