I know it's Wikipedia but on the Lewes FC part it says that we have Michael Malcolm, if true that's a very nice acquisition. That is all.

That's three good strikers! We haven't had one for three years! Good defenders with Cade in midfield and Wormull available and Holloway available when back to strength. Who could ask for anything else? You lot, I suppose.

Worms will not be available he is retired due to injury! And I am sure that Holloway will be more than available, he will be a key player.

I hope you are right about Holloway and wrong about Wormull. Should either of them be fit they can expect a huge ovation when they step onto the hallowed ground.

I have been trying to imagine what the crowds reaction will be when the team comes out for the first home game proper. even more so, what will the reaction to SK be? Will he wear a red shirt and black trousers similar to his last game in charge? I think there will be a standing ovation and it will be quite emotional.

I think for the return of the king could there be some hands out of some plastic crowns. Or posters saying welcome home King

I think black and red (cardboard) crowns would be fun too. Don't forget my post suggesting a brass band playing "Sussex by the sea" and "God save the King" ("anything but the drums" - somebody replied). Then on the Tannoy "I get knocked down"/"Eye of the Tiger"...

I'm wondering if the club's bank manager is sharing your enthusiasm for the coming season

I'm wondering if anyone like you or Howard would like to back up any "info" on the clubs finances with facts?
I trust the board and I am sure Ibbo would not let King ruin his hard work, besides I believe King when he said he was given the same budget as other candidates and he will stick to it. No, not because I am naive but because King does have a love for the club and doesn't just want to turn up, destroy a clubs finances and leave.
Maybe a bit of jealousy as Lewes look like we are putting together a very decent side with a very decent board?

Chill out dude. Enjoy the money your spending. For goodness sake, we (Worthing) have splashed the cash at various points in our history.
You've a dynamic board in place who I'm sure wouldn't spend money you don't have, particularly given your recent history.

Sorry Ian, not really you, should have aimed that more towards just Howard but I still don't believe that the club are spending lots of money as one of our board members has come on the forum and told us there is no extra money and we have all been told we are on a reduced playing budget.
Will the budget be released or did I just imagine that I heard that?

As an insider, I know that Lewes FC now has funds that exceed those of Man Utd, Chalsea and Man City – combined! We keep this very secret and that is why we don't spend any of it on the floodlights or the toilets. I feel quite ashamed that we will be taking on the cash-strapped teams of the Ryman Prem, knowing that if we wanted to, we could easily buy their players and football grounds just for fun.
However, as this thread is about Michael Malcolm, I'd like to welcome him and all the new squad. They will get a huge ovation when the season begins. I'm sure by the end of the season we will want to see them rewarded with at least one week's worth of the average premiership player's earnings. But unless Sky and the FA and other FA's are not forced to anything but FA, non-league football will suffer while oligarchs accumulate evreybody else's hard earned money.

I suggested that the club publicise their playing budget prior to SK's appointment as other clubs have done so. Good reasons for this are that this allows the fans to guage their expectations accordingly and secondly if the budget is extended then appropriate questions can be asked especially bearing in mind what happened before. In the last couple of days I have received information from a previously reliable source that the budget HAS ALREADY been extended. If this is true and there is reason to validate the same then surely it would be good public relations for the Board to explain so. Otherwise publish the budget and at the AGM, shareholders can view the actual accounts and see that budgets were maintained.
