Great signings- Draycott was scoring well for Bedford who are in the Zameretto league so same level as us for a side that finished 17th so did well to score so many.

I liked Jamie Cade. Always worked his socks off for the team when he was here last and never gave up. I don't think he was the greatest finisher I've ever seen, but a good partner for Boothy to work with though.

I thought Jamie Cade was older than 26 (apologies Jamie). My last memory of Jamie is of him coming off the pitch to a huge round of applause after being substituted towards the end of a game against Fisher. It was a bitterly cold night and he had played with a heavily strapped wrist and given his usual 100%.

I remember watching on of the early games when we were in the BSP and KK was in charge. I didn't recognise m(any) of the players but some of them looked like Jamie Cade. I commented to Andy Fitz (who I am sure will be at the Pan soon - won't you Fitz?) - "I keep thinking Jamie Cade is on the pitch" to which he answered "No such luck!"
Welcome back Jamie and imagine Booth and another good striker up front. Despite the loss of Wheeler and the failure to nail Binns, I am feeling optimistic about the next season. We now have access to decent keeping, defending, midfielding and striking. Players that join from now on will have a great chance to demonstrate their ability to meld (gel) with experienced and talented team mates. With our prematurely tested young players and the option of the strategic use of loan players, I think we can be confident of some happy days at the Pan. But I wouldn't be surprised to see some more signings before the season proper begins.

Back by popular demand.I understand there is some trepidation in the leadership. At least one of them is worried already about the budget. It's taking a toll already. Very little income so we all wait with baited breath. More to come.

:DOh my God! And to think I thought 'Howard's End' was just that. Ended. Long ago. Yet the Mighty Rooks go on. And they will. I base my faith on 1000 and more smiling and happy Lewes fans that you now meet in the High Street, in Tesco and in Waitrose and in Bone, Andy & Marvin's etc etc. The good times are definitely back for Lewes FC.

Well said David. There is definitely interest out there. A current thread on the Lewes forum (which often attracts hostile comments to all things football) shows that some people in the town are getting inquisitive about this non-league football thing.

:DHartleys indeed Andy. And I don't go there fly fishing! But let me inform everybody that you can always hook some brilliant value wines in your gaff right up until 11pm every night if the fancy takes you - which it often does me.
You know, given a different thread that's current on this forum, I suddenly thought that Hartleys would make a brilliant sponsor for our under-18s. But then I thought, maybe not! Although they do a nice line in pork scratchings and all kinds of non-alcoholic beverages.
Funny enough, Hugh Rae is my favourite Lewes shop after the off-licence. Hugh Rae opposite the castle has a continuous history as a shop/bakers/whatever that's documented back to 1330 making it the oldest such recorded retail premise in Britain. The inside is awesome with giant oak beams and incredible medieval panels plus a loo that overhangs St Martins Lane (but mercifully for any modern tourists walking underneath) has modern plumbing. I've known the owner since our schooldays at Mountfield Road County Secondary in the Sixties. His name is Alan 'Griz' Griffiths and I'm pleased to say he does annually put up some sponsorship money for the Mighty Rooks. He'd put up more if he knew that fans were popping in to buy stuff. Not least he stocks Lewes FC 125th anniversary ties, the fashion accessory to die for.
