As the pre-season is moving closer and closer. who is going to be the next few signings to join the club? will breach or wheeler or anyone from last season sign up? who would you like to sign for the club? personally id love to see harvey back with us as he was entertaining! id also like binns back in the red and black as he brought class to the left wing.

Would like to see us sign a couple of younger lads from last seasons u18s, Freeman? Jones? Lang?
And then for the 'first' team, I'd love to see us add a striker to compliment Booth, someone with a bit of pace and guile. A younger Jamie Cade perhaps? Obviously a goalkeeper is important too, will we see a new face or did I read we've got Stuart Robinson?

Owen Price was at Farnborough last season, 7 starts and 7 sub appearances, Farnborough fans did not rate him at all!

This forum is surreal.
I also spend time on a Leeds forum where the current raging debate is whether we re-sign Smudge, Woody or - gulp - even Ratboy. In general the majority view seems to be that we shouldn't sign them, purely on the basis that they've played for us before and it's better to look forward not back.
And then I come on here and find that people only want to re-sign players who've played for Lewes before.
Steve King, when interviewed, makes much of the fact that he racks up the miles watching matches here, there and everywhere. Surely that should lead us to signing a good few new faces maybe?
There has to be a bit of a balance, somewhere.

AW or a D....
Very good argument, little point in clocking up mileage if the same old faces follow everywhere. Hopefully there will be a few unknown, younger promising players as well.

Good post AW......
I can be very nostalgic and I admit it got excited when I saw that Booth and Robbo were returning (however I do have a long memory and realise that these two are journey men).
Would be good to see some fresh faces at the Pan.

I understand both sides of the argument.
Personally I don't really mind if we have exactly the same squad as 3 seasons ago OR a squad made up of completely new faces. The main criteria for me is a competitive and entertaining team on, most importantly, a sustainable budget. End of.
There is a certain comfort in signing players that we know can do the business from their previous spell. New faces would be nice too, as would some local players as long as they are all up to it.
The answer is, I suppose, a balance of everything, and I suspect that is what we are going to get.

I come with completely neutral feelings about SK as I wasn't coming to Lewes matches when he was here last, I will be cheering on whatever eleven players he puts out on the pitch.
A word of caution though from my experience with the Albion. Micky Adams is one of those managers that only seems to be able to sign players that have played for him before. In his first coming he put together a decent team of journeymen who were pretty average until he had the fortune to sign Bobby Zamora who turned them into table toppers. The second time however he was awful, the players he re-signed were poor and didn't gel with the squad he inherited. He tried to make up for his shortcomings with loads of loan signings.
If SK is as good as some will have us believe he will put together a team that's a mixture of players he knows he can rely on, the best of what's already here and few that he spots whilst watching his legendary 150 games per season.

I believe that a mix of old and new is the best way. some of the old gaurd who can drum out results on any given day with some new youthful talent with prospects who need guidence. this will i think not only get us back into the bss but with the youth talent keeping us there for years too come.
with that in mind lets have all suggestions of NEW PLAYER who can help secure the future.

Don't think anyone has said that they ONLY want to sign players who have been here before. However is it so wrong to hope that players from our most succesful team ever, who left in strange circumstances with somewhat unfinished business, might return? That said, I expect the majority of the signings to follow now will be new faces. It is only to be expected that players SK has already worked with would sign up quicker than those who haven't played under him before.
Personally, I couldn't care less whether they are new or old as long as they play good football. Difference is, with the old guard, we already know they can do the job. I'm pretty excited to see whoever lines up next season...

Aaah MC Harvey, we should have him back, particularly for those tricky trips to Bury Town and Lowestoft, he has a great reputation for playing away (poor Alesha)!
I'm sure we will have a real bevvy of triallists on show throughout the summer, it's great to have a few old favourites back but, like others have said, there's no point just trying to reassemble the wonderful, but now sadly aging, title winning side, if we were going to do that we might as well have hired Justin Lee Collins as manager, he managed to get the A-team back together after all!
COME ON YOU ROOKS!

Rookwhostalking it say your location is on your arse. are you sure your not just talking out of it again.....this was aimed at the justin lee colins comment. but other then that you make a good point. the old gaurd are aging a bit and itll be nice to see the new bread of SK non-league domination

I second Owen Price- would be a good replacement for Wheeler.
Anyone know what he's up to? I assume he's left Farnborough in light of their decision to go full-time.
