It's capping in the Premiership that we need. There is a ridiculous amount of money wasted there that could make the lives of thousands of footballers and millions of fans much happier. Then we could cap the bankers and city brokers - who have ruined so many people's lives with their greed. I agree with a minimum wage for the poor: now we need a maximum wage for the rich. And what has this got to do with Max Hustwick? It might mean that Max could get a decent wage for playing for the Lewes at the cost of a Premiership's player's stupid bet on a horse, the repair of his sports car - or worse.

If you cap wages you send the most talented people abroad. You also lose the millions upon millions of pounds of income tax revenue that the rich pay.

I liked Max Hustwick, he was quite a stylish centre back. Good signing if he's still what he was previously.

PJ, was going through a pile of old crap, containing old programmes too, last night (ones which my wife has been nagging me to chuck out) and I found the Welling one straight away. Co-incidence or what... That was one of the best performances I have ever seen from a Lewes team. Wormulls fantastic effort on goal which led to the first. Holloways rock solid block in the middle which led to the second. A fantastic 4 pass move from one end to the other for the third. Then Binns flying down the wing leading to the fourth. Poor old Dukes.......standing there forlornly with hands on hips after every goal with a bemused look on his face.

Cant resist this,
1 Just because you are talented doesnt make you greedy and want to leave the country that has recognised your worth.
2 The taxman doesnt lose anything as it is the selfish emigrant who is leaving the country not the job he used to do !
3 I was recently offered the job of advertising manager for Viva Las Vegas for a million dollars pa, penthouse suite and bunny girls on tap, did i take it of course not there are many ways to measure wealth.

"Greed" is a subjective term. If a firm in England offered an employee 50k a year and a firm in Spain offered 100k then barring exceptional circumstances the vast majority of people would head off to Spain. You can call them greedy or selfish all you want but it's a plain rational choice. 2.The wage of a job isn't determined by the job title but by the calibre of the employee i.e how much is an employee worth to a company. Say if the majority of the top 10% talented Premier League players left for Spain or Italy due to a wage cap, that would leave more average players to fill the role of Man United's top striker. However, United would have many options to choose from, not just from England's average players but other average players from around the world who couldn't command a wage higher than the cap set. Also, you've missed the original point entirely. If you tax someone earning 100k at 50% but then cap their wage to 50k and take 50% you take less money in tax. If you cap someone's wage AND tax them proportionally more, then they're even more likely to leave for foreign shores. 3. You weighed up your options and made a rational choice based on what you wanted. If someone had decided to take the job would they be selfish or greedy? Not in my opinion anyway.
