Any truth in the fact Darren resigned from football duties at the club due to the fact he did not agree with way SK was appointed?

Is this a question because you are genuinely interested or just the start of people having a snide pop?
We are where we are. It is a much better place then we have been for 3 seasons. Just accept it.

Thought there was a question mark at the end of the question. So therefore its a question. This is a forum, questions are asked, opinions sought. Another member of the 'cant say anything about SK brigade' are we? I asked if it was true, obviously not allowed to ask if there was any truth, how is that a snide pop, I will PM you.

To be honest Ralph none of us was involved in the selection and the way SK was appointed, as you put it, apart from a couple of the board members who come on here in a personal capacity and I wouldn't expect them to respond to something like this.
The only person who would know the truth is Darren himself, otherwise it's all just speculation, and I think we have all had enough of that.
As stated above we are where we are, now we need to move forwards not backwards.

Thanks for the PM Ralph and the vulgarity. I have said on here before that I was never a big Steve King fan. However, your question was in the style of many that were being asked on this forum a few years ago. If your question was innocent then apologies.

People already snapping and we are no where near the start of the season, wow. Can everyone who is on the For or Against SK side just calm the f**k down, we don't need this at the club we didn't have this when KK was in charge neither did we when ToSH was in charge. If you are an Against Give SK a chance, its a new board and he is a different person after being away for 3 years. If you are a for SK stop being so defensive and stop putting him on a pedestal he is the best manager we have had but that doesn't mean he has a magic wand this time round.
I thought Darren Ford was leaving anyway, is there any 100% conformation anyway so calm down people.

Has Darren definitely gone?
Blimey.
Whatever the background / reason, I just want to thank him for the fantastic work he's done in recent years throughout schools in Lewes and at holiday schools etc. No one man has done more to get local kids interested in football and in Lewes FC for the past few years.
Cheers Darren, and good luck with whatever you do next. There are a lot of kids who will miss you.

That's a big loss. Everyone I speak to hold Darren in very high regard. I just wish we had someone like him at Worthing.
Presumably, some of the players will undertake the community coaching like in the old days? If so, just be wary of any of any constructive dismissal claims.

I understand that Darren will continue as General Manager until the end of the month or until new arrangements are in place. I can say that he will definitely be staying on with Lewes FC in his role as Community & Education Manager based at the Dripping Pan.

The Community and Education operation is done by a seperate company to the football club. Darren Ford is shown at Companies House as the Director of that Community and Education Company.
Lewes (2000) FC Ltd, which is itself the trading arm of Lewes FC, is controlled by the Community Benefit Society (which is issuing the share offer) as a holding company.
Presumably, the position of General manager was seperate from, and in addition to, the role of delivering the education programme.

The Community & Education part of Lewes FC is indeed a separate company. But the two are obviously very closely linked. Darren has been superb and tireless in developing the C&E down the years. Some months ago the Board of Lewes FC saw that relying solely on volunteers to keep the practical side of Lewes FC ticking over was not necessarily a long time solution. So they came up with the idea of Darren taking on the role of General Manager as an addition to his C&E responsibilities. As I recall, the Board itself said it would cover the expenses of Darren's extended role from their own pockets so there was no cost to the club. I thought it was a great gesture by the Board who themselves are all volunteers and it was also a very neat solution for a club that has been busily expanding in all areas over the past year (apart from success on the pitch!). I am sorry it has not worked out for whatever reasons (I suspect one of those will be the sheer time swallowed up by meetings where we volunteers waffle on for ages). For the record, Darren has sent a very heartwarming message to club volunteers thanking them for their support and guidance in the time of his short tenure as General Manager. I'm sure he'll continue to do a fantastic job in the Community & Education sphere. Darren is a fan of the Rooks and remains key to bringing on future generations of fans of the Rooks.

Thanks for the conformation of everything David. Told you everyone needs to calm down. David has made it very clear and it is appreciated, good to see Darren is still part of the C&E side.

Is this the start of the king creep. He will surround himself with his mates. If you are successful and in budget, he will have proved himself. We've proved that it's down to money. Lets hope you can keep feeding the demand. The request for a pre season friendly was rejected. This was not meant badly but due to the lateness of the request. Darren recognised as a real geezer in community programmes so try to keep him.
