I find this rather odd considering they were supposed to be having some financial difficulties.
Maybe "cheaper" players? Sounds like a recipe for a relegation fight to me.

They are supposedly going on a reduced playing budget. I think the idea is that they want to try something new, so they are trying to bring in young players from the local area and making them full time players, for cheaper than the players they had last season but training for longer so they are better prepared and have a good chance of competing witht the part time teams with more money.
This is why most of the Farnborough squad have left as they cannot be paid as much as their full time jobs outside of football which is the reason Farnborough will have to go with young, local players. It will be interesting to see how it turns out as in theory a team training every day should do better than the part time teams however they will all be youngsters on less than part time wages but training full time, if that makes sense.
I would worry about the fact that if they can only afford youngsters on full time wages they will not be able to progress as these youngsters will want to keep moving on so when they are older they can earn enough to make a living which Farnborough can't afford or their current, older players would have stayed on with them.
Eastleigh are doing exactly the same thing and both clubs believe it is the right thing to do to get promoted. It will be interesting as it could work really well or completly back fire.
I personally think it is mad going full time at this level.

Histon started the same way in Conf Prem last season as Farnborough are doing next season. It backfired so badly by Christmas that they had to get loan signings on silly money to get them off the foot of the table but it didnt work. Sounds good in theory but its not an instant fix

According to their website they have released virtually all of last season's squad. Including Binns, Conroy, Robinson and Booth.
It will all end in tears, I'm sure.

They have kept 2 former Crawley players though who were full time with them Mikey Malcome and Jamie Stevens. Malcome is 27 now ? So safe to say not a youngster. Intresting times there but i hate to say could end up being sad times aswell.

ok mainly youngsters then... They will have to employ younger players as generally older players will need more money than Farnborough can offer if they are going to be playing as a full time job.

We won't be getting Jay Conroy as he has already signed for Sutton United.
