Just a quick reminder in the middle of this period of time that you are responsible for any posts in which you write. IP addresses are logged and therefore responsibility of each post lies at its author and not of the moderators and/or admin of this board.
Emotions are running quite high and I'm trying not to delete anything from here as I don't like the idea of muting opinions but please just keep it football based and not personal based.
I'd rather not get any more letters through my door complaining about users of this forum!

LOL.... heavens forbid kieran that free speech be controlled by an autocratic dictatorship ;-)

Willo...sorry but that is just silly. He's not controlling free speech, he's asking for opinions to be aired without personal comments. What's more he was very polite about it! Anyone who can't offer a view without getting abusive is probably best advised to keep it to themselves.

My one hope is the board can deal with as many of the rumoured issues as possible when they announce their decision. The mood of this forum – on different threads – has become a little unpleasant in recent days, with veiled accusations being made. I do have trust in this board (and that, as regulars will know, hasn't always been my attitude towards previous directors). Clearly there will be things they can't say, and whatever they decide they won't please everyone, but it would be good to have an air-clearing statement so that we know that the decision was taken in the right way and that whoever is chosen can take us forward without unjustified mud sticking to him.
Guiam – if the decision goes the way I would like, farewell and thanks (but often no thanks) for the banter. If it doesn't, I shall get behind the new man and look forward to a challenging 2011–2012 season.

Good post Spur, it would be great if the BoD could cover the decision-making process in as much detail as possible in their upcoming press release.
Probably in the minority here but I find it a shame to lose Guiam. He is clearly a well-informed and connected (if sometimes hot-headed) individual and it is disappointing that someone who quite apparently cares for the club a great deal no longer wishes to contribute his support.

oldfogey.... can we not have a bit of banter on here and make a tongue in cheek comment? I am sure Kieran knows exactly where I am coming from as it is a joke of few years back regarding solicitors letters and their instigators.
While I will wish the new man success, I hope that there will not be a return to the days when any criticism of on field play is censored by the closure of this fans forum.
I agree with spur, a rarity I know :-) ..... start with a clean slate!

Oh, and thanks to Kieran for moderating in a sensible, balanced manner.

Willo - I am all for banter but how about this from Guiam the other day... "no worries s**theads....theres just one more to come...and i hope it sickens some of you fools." If that is banter or tongue in cheek I would sooner do without it! There are other examples of course. I don't mind strong opinions and I don't mind people telling me I know nothing about football (probably quite right) but we are all supposed to be Lewes fans and in it together.
I do agree with you that we should be able to talk freely about what happens on the field, even though I personally try to support and encourage rather than singling out individuals for criticism as has sometimes happened (eg I felt that Joe Keehan was sometimes given a very hard time just because of his Dad, which was hardly his fault!)

dear oldfogey
I don't disagree with your post, but you obviously don't understand the tongue in cheek joke within my post to Keiran. He will and I am certain take no offence. It was in no way a sleight against how Kieran or others moderate this forum. I speak for myself and not for others so please don't draw me on guiam's irate posts of late. If I am offensive to anyone then you are welcome to pull me up on it, but it is unlikely that will happen. We certainly agree on criticism towards players and you will never find a post where I rip into a player unless it be for an horrendous tackle or indiscipline towards officials. Once more my comment relates to instances of the past whereby individuals try to censor criticism and perhaps you are unaware of this history. Other than that, I wish you a wonderful weekend.

I find it sad that Billy comes out with all this stuff. He is very well respected for helping to save the club all those years ago and his contribution during the JQ years was enormous. Without him there would probably be no Lewes FC. He is unravelling all that respect with some of his recent comments.

Willo - fair enough! I simply wanted to support Kieran and the work he does to moderate our very good forum. I certainly agree with PJ's comments and it would be so much nicer to see old stalwarts feeling that whatever is wrong with the club, they can find a way to stay part of it. I'm really sorry Billy feels the way he does.

Sorry Willo in that case. The joke went over my head!
