Just as a matter of interest, how old are Robbo and Boothy now? My guess is about 35ish, so not long term signings, but proven track record certainly. Robbo is 35 and Boothy 34. Both played over 40 games last season though so clearly keep themselves in excellent condition.

I expect it is as much about their undoubted skills as the influence they will have on the younger players around them.

Class and experience. Just look at the way they played against us just a few weeks ago. Enough said really.

I thought King may have got some new players in ,rather than relying on the old guard who seem to follow him about from club to club, not knocking how good they are, but they arent the most loyal of players

Excellent news with these signings, can't wait for this new season now!

Besides Nic Ciardini hasn't been following King around apart from now. He was at Farnborough for 12 years!

If you mean loyal to Steve King then I would say they have been very loyal.

There wasnt an option to be loyal before when the money dried up, they had to leave. Well we know leon legge wont be back unless kingy is the messiah himself :-)

Players following a manager is nothing new at this level. The one ex rook i would like to see again in the red and black is Jamie Cade. I hope some of the better players from last season will feature in Kings plans.

I feel the only players we will be seeing from last season are David Wheeler (please sign soon ) and 1 more player which I suspect is Breach as in King's interview in Sussex express he says he offered Wheeler a contract and 1 more player. I may be wrong and he may intent and may have now spoken to more.

I reckon Barney would still do a good job at this level. He would be on my list.

The other name is surely Lewis Hamilton - right age and still has the pace (which sadly Barness probably and Breach certainly don't have). If I was to pick a third it would be Andy Pearson as I think he is a good squad player as he can play across the back and is still young.

Really looking forward to new season, would like to see more info on players re-signed or signed, if there are any at this stage
