This is unconfirmed but I have heard from a pretty good source that, somehow, the money has been got together and the taxman has been paid off.
If true then I reckon we should all bow to whoever was responsible.

We all need to turn out in force for every remaining game to ensure its now "onward & upward". Think we should now do all we can to support the club, Ibbo & Martin for getting us through this very difficult time. Up the ROOKS

Blow me down with a feather! Let's hope that it's all true and also that however it has been arranged, it's going to leave the club with some sort of stability and in a position to look ahead at long last. Thank you, to whoever has come forward and saved the club. If it is true that the money has been found, this is not putting it too strongly.

I can't find a link from The Argus website, but I will type out the story in today's paper written by Howard Griggs, which confirms the rumour:
Lewes have secured their immediate future.
The Rooks sent off a figure in excess of £47,000 to HM Revenue and Customs yesterday afternoon to finally clear a tax debt.
They were due in the High Court tomorrow when HMRC would have been pushing for the club to be wound-up.
The case has twice been adjourned to give Lewes more time to pay but it seems there will now be no need for a third court hearing.
First-team manager Steve Ibbitson rallied around over the weekend to ensure the money was raised in donations and long-term interest-free loans.
The money was transferred yesterday and the club are awaiting confirmation it has been received.
Ibbitson said: "The transfer has been made. It may take a couple of days to reach their account.
"We are waiting for the revenue to confirm they have received it.
"The money has come from benefactors and well-wishers who have helped the club before.
"There are also a couple of people who have come forward over the last six months and expressed a wish to help the club."
Lewes, struggling against relegation, will now set about paying off other debts as they strive to get the Blue Square South club back on an even financial keel.

What fantastic news, we true fans must do all we can to support Ibbo, the team and the club in any way we can. As several home games have been postponed lately I will pay double entry ££'s when I attend the game on 23rd. With a good crowd, around 400, this could bring in extra 2k+ to help going forward. What a great guy Ibbo is, lets now get all those "stay away" fans back to the Pan

Although the money isn't from him, a big thank you must go to Ibbo. As if he doesn't have enough to do, he has spent the last week or so chasing around to sort this out.
For those who doubted his legend status, NOW BELIEVE IT! The messiah is a short Yorkie with silver hair.

The radio interview on the BBC site mentioned above is excellent. Thanks Ibbo and, as the interview says, thanks to everyone else involved too.

I'm a Bognor fan but well done to Lewes, you are an old Sussex club with lots of tradition, long may you continue. Good luck in the Conference South for the rest of the season.

Finally, we can now get on with the football side of things and try to keep Lewes FC a Blue Square South team, then next year, move on and try to finish in a more progressive position. I think it's important that we now rally hard as fans- like Ibbo and Jason have done- to make sure we don't find ourselves in a similar situation again. So basically, try to get everyone involved in our local club).
First of all, going to the games. At the Pan especially, but would be nice to keep the numbers away from home. Singing home and away (which we already do) but I suppose you can always improve, maybe add a few more songs to the record, something more of a song than the regular chant. A personalised Lewes FC fans anthem that we could sing when the players come out maybe (!?).
Also the club house, have any plans been put together for getting that idea a lift, I think the ideas that Half man came up with (scarves, engraved Lewes crest I think it was, etc) were really good so would be nice to see?
But the most important thing is that we get to the games use the clubhouse and food bar as well as try to bring new people to games at the Pan. Also follow the Rooks on the road £10 away travel on the coach is really good value for money.
